More ocean data – for everyone

The purpose of Havsans is to give the world better access to hydrographic data. Access to ocean data is the key to a better understanding of the oceans – an understanding which is crucial if we want to preserve the oceans as a resource, natural service and habitat for life. Data is also the key to optimising our activities in and near the oceans whether it be building and operating harbours, managing our coasts or recreational.

Our access to marine data is limited by two challenges; instrument costs and effort required to deploy and maintain the instruments. These challenges mean that only very few actors are able to collect ocean data and only collect relatively little of it. Havsans is setting out to make collection of ocean data cheaper and easier so that more people will be have access to it.

Live Data Service

In Havsans we try to make the complicated process of getting hydrographic data as simple as possible for our customers. This means we take care of setting up and servicing the measurement stations that you need, and customize them to measure the parameters you need. Once set up, the data will be available in the format you need via our online data platform. We will ensure the data transmission is stable and service the stations as needed, so all you will need to worry about is how to use the data you get.

We provide the data to you as a feed, in easy to understand graphs and/or notifying you with alarms when parameters exceeds a certain threshold

Custom Instrumentation

We have developed our own modular hydrographic instrument with a set of custom sensors. This allows us to provide you with the lowest prices on the market, but also to customize the instrumentation to suit your specific needs.

Presently, we offer the following measurement parameters

• Temperature

• Waves

• Water level

• Current 

We are working hard on expanding our range of sensors and within the near future, we expect to be able to offer the following parameters:

• Turbidity

• Bed level monitoring

• Light (PAR)

• Conductivity/Salinity

• Dissolved oxygen

• Nitrates/nutrients

• pH
